Data Engineer, Ads Science Analysis & Tech (ASAT)
Job Description
An entry-level data engineer role within ASAT at Amazon Ads based in New York, NY on site offers a path for recent graduates to build analytics capabilities and transform complex data flows into actionable guidance for bidding, targeting, relevance, and feature releases. The position centers on developing methods to analyze data and translate insights into concrete recommendations that support advertiser outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Analyze data trends related to supply, optimization, ad load, and ad mix effects that influence advertiser performance and help meet advertiser goals.
- Prepare analyses for senior leaders on topics such as how feature development affects identity recognition rates and how changes to ad selection systems impact fill rate, highlighting findings that inform roadmaps.
- Formalize the analytics approach to Ads auctions by examining bid spreads, auction depth, and simulating potential changes to auction structure.
- Identify, standardize, and operationalize KPIs to measure the performance of all ad-serving systems, using trend insights to steer business priorities.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define data logging requirements and secure prioritization on engineering roadmaps.
- Validate financial models through rigorous analysis.
- Develop and own ad revenue and supply intelligence analytics decks that support ongoing deep-dives.
Requirements
- 1+ years of data engineering experience
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience using AI to automate and build with GitHub (or other sources) to showcase projects
