Data Engineer - AWS

Deloitte is looking for a Data Engineer III on the AI & Data team to help deliver technology-focused outcomes for clients across complex engagements. This onsite role in Tempe, AZ centers on AWS-based data engineering and delivery, with opportunities to lead requirements, drive technical design, and collaborate closely with stakeholders.

What you will do

• Deliver client engagements focused on AWS-based data engineering and delivery activities, including requirements, design, planning, and stakeholder communication.
• Manage day-to-day interactions with client stakeholders and sponsors as the primary technical point of contact for your workstreams.
• Lead teams through business requirements gathering, functional design, process mapping, and support-model definition, providing technical direction throughout.
• Develop and maintain project scope, schedule, and resource plans for your workstream and adjust them as engagement needs evolve.
• Maintain clear, consistent communication with client stakeholders and internal engagement leadership.

• 8+ years relevant technology consulting experience in cloud modernization, data engineering, and business intelligence.
• 3+ years experience with AWS-based data lakes, data warehouses, analytics platforms, and operational data stores.
• 3+ years experience with AWS data services including AWS Glue, EMR, S3, Athena, Redshift, RDS, Lambda, or Step Functions.
• 5+ years hands-on experience with Python, PySpark, SQL, and PL/SQL.
• 2+ years experience leading, managing, and delivering workstreams or small teams with resources in multiple locations for complex technical engagements.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, AI, or a related field.
• Ability to travel 50%, on average.
• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
