Job Description

Deloitte is hiring an experienced Data Engineer- Consultant to help deliver client solutions through its Project Talent Model. This role focuses on building and supporting data pipelines and integrations while minimizing extensive travel. You will collaborate with business and architecture stakeholders, develop pipelines in Azure Databricks and Apache Hadoop using Spark, and support testing and post-production operations through monitoring and maintenance.

What you’ll be doing

  • Partner with Business Analysts to understand requirements
  • Coordinate with the Application Architect to align with the design
  • Create low-level data pipeline specifications using Azure Databricks and Apache Hadoop with Apache Spark
  • Perform unit testing for data pipelines
  • Work with onshore and offshore teammates to coordinate integration buildout
  • Support SIT and UAT
  • Support pipeline deployment
  • Provide post-production maintenance and monitoring
  • Communicate regularly with Engagement Managers (Directors), project team members, and functional or technical representatives, including escalating items needing additional engagement management attention

Key skills and qualifications

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering
  • Technical experience with SQL, Azure Databricks, and Apache Spark (also tied to Apache Hadoop)
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related IT discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
  • Ability to travel 10% on average, based on the work, clients, and industries/sectors served

Compensation and incentives

Salary range: USD 95,000 - 112,000 per year. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95,000 to $112,000.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
