Job Description

MassMutual's Corporate Technology Data Engineering & Analytics team is seeking a data engineer to join our Boston hybrid environment. You will design and build ELT pipelines, data marts, and data warehouse solutions to support Investment Management, collaborating with analysts, architects, and business stakeholders to translate needs into scalable data assets.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and measure complex ELT jobs to integrate disparate data sources into a high-integrity, clean data asset
  • Contribute to data modeling policies, procedures, and standards
  • Capture and document data flows, database design, and related technical information
  • Develop data quality standards and implement tools to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Collaborate with Investment Management departments to understand new data patterns
  • Work with Data Analysts, Data Architects, and BI developers to deliver scalable solutions aligned with business goals
  • Translate high-level business requirements into detailed technical specifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related technical field
  • 8+ years of experience in data analytics, data modeling, and database design
  • 5+ years of experience with ELT methodologies and tools
  • 5+ years of experience designing, developing, tuning, and troubleshooting SQL
  • 3+ years of coding and scripting (Python, Java, Scala) and design experience
  • 2+ years of experience with the Spark framework
