Job Description
Join Amazon’s OTS Data ANCHOR team as a Data Engineer II and help sculpt the data foundation for AI-driven operational insights across Amazon’s global fulfillment and maintenance networks. Based onsite in Austin, TX, this influential individual contributor role focuses on delivering scalable ETL and ELT pipelines, alongside AI-ready data infrastructure that powers automated reporting, diagnostics, and analytics at scale. The position carries a salary range of USD 132,100 to 178,800 per year.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines and large-scale data infrastructure that support OTS operational intelligence.
- Develop feature engineering workflows and ML-ready data pipelines to enable data science experimentation and production model serving.
- Contribute to data governance and quality standards across analytical and ML data products.
- Assist in implementing GenAI solutions for automated reporting, diagnostics, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.
- Create and sustain semantic layers and dashboard data models that inform global operations decisions.
- Collaborate with Program Managers, BI teams, ML Engineers, Data Scientists, and operational stakeholders to align work with OTS business goals.
- Adhere to and help evolve best practices for data engineering, including code reviews, testing, monitoring, and documentation.
Requirements
- 3+ years of data engineering experience.
- 3+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using ETL/ELT processes.
- 1+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using SQL.
- Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
- Proven ability to deliver end-to-end projects independently.

Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in computer science, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, IT, or equivalent.
- Experience programming in at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby.
- Knowledge of batch and streaming data architectures using systems like Kafka, Kinesis, Flink, Storm, or Beam.
