Job Description

Own supply chain data model architecture and delivery for self-serve analytics on Databricks and AWS.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and take ownership of the primary supply chain data models in Databricks, serving as the most heavily used data assets across the organization and built on top of the data delivered by the Enterprise Technology (ET) data pipeline.
  • Set the strategy and architecture for how supply chain stakeholders self-serve data, including semantic layers, curated data marts, defined access patterns, and documentation that help business users locate and trust metrics without engineering support.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison to the ET data platform team by defining data contracts, advocating for supply chain data needs, and adjusting downstream models as upstream platform capabilities evolve.
  • Define and enforce data modeling standards, business logic ownership, and data quality frameworks to ensure consistency and trust across downstream consumers of supply chain models and self-serve tools.
  • Guide the architecture for AWS-hosted internal web applications and self-serve analytics tools built on top of the core data models, with focus on performance, scalability, and usability.
  • Establish engineering standards for GitLab CI/CD, VS Code development workflows, testing, and deployment; mentor Data Engineer I–III on data modeling and self-serve enablement best practices.
  • Evaluate and integrate AI-assisted development, data modeling, and analytics tooling (for example, AI-powered query assistants and natural language interfaces) to expand self-serve capabilities.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact between supply chain leadership and engineering to ensure models and self-serve tools evolve with changing business requirements.
  • Ensure end-to-end coverage of reliable supply chain model and self-serve metric needs across procurement, inventory, logistics, supplier performance, and manufacturing supply by resolving gaps and inconsistencies as usage grows.

Requirements

  • 6+ years building and operating production data pipelines and data models, including leading data modeling architecture decisions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Deep experience with Databricks (or comparable lakehouse platform) architecting large-scale, business-facing data models.
  • Proven experience partnering with, or consuming data from, a centralized enterprise data platform team, including managing data contracts and adapting to upstream changes.
  • Strong experience architecting solutions on AWS including S3, Lambda, Glue, ECS/EKS, RDS, and API Gateway.
  • Proven experience with Git-based CI/CD workflows (GitLab preferred) and modern software engineering practices.
  • Ability to mentor engineers and lead cross-functional technical initiatives.
  • Due to access to export-controlled data, must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
