Job Description

Software Resources, Inc. is seeking a Data Engineer LFI, Data Governance (Phoenix, AZ, hybrid) to strengthen reporting capabilities while aligning with data governance and regulatory reporting needs. In this role, you’ll build and improve dashboards, support deep-dive analytics, and help ensure reporting accuracy, quality, and consistency across projects tied to LFI regulatory requirements.

How you’ll help the business

  • Use SQL to query and analyze data, and lead the design, build, and maintenance of advanced dashboards and reporting tools to track key performance metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes using available technology to create efficient, repeatable reporting workflows.
  • Perform deep-dive analysis on large, complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and anomalies, then provide recommendations that support operational improvements and strategy.
  • Translate business unit reporting and analytical questions into analytical tasks, and present findings and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Support data integrity by designing validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability, collaborating with IT teams to enhance data infrastructure and improve data accessibility.

Regulatory reporting and quality focus

  • Develop business requirements for LFI Regulatory Reporting, including incorporating changes required by FRB regulations for a Category III institution.
  • Problem-solve around requirements changes, defects, and data validation issues.
  • Execute UAT (User Acceptance Testing) to verify data accuracy and integrity.
  • Take a leadership role by developing and assisting junior staff and supporting the team responsible for regulatory reporting data development, testing, and execution.

Required experience and skills

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Analytics & Data Management (or similar).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with data analysis tools such as SQL and Excel, plus data visualization platforms such as Power BI or Tableau, with the ability to present actionable insights from large datasets.
  • Experience with project management and handling multiple priorities and deliverables.
  • Intermediate knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management, and/or other commercial banking products and services.
  • Intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, and industry standards and practices.
  • Intermediate speaking and writing communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with increasing responsibility in regulatory reporting or other areas at a bank.
  • Working knowledge of Reg YY and related regulatory reporting.
  • Experience with predictive modeling, statistical analysis, or machine learning.

Working knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements is a key part of the role. You’ll be expected to be familiar with Reg YY and related reporting regulations (including FR 2052a, FR Y-14, and FR Y-15) and work with a team delivering and validating regulatory reporting data for LFI status.
