Data Engineer - MDM
Job Description
Philip Morris International U.S. is seeking an MDM Data Engineer to own end-to-end data engineering within the master data management domain in Tampa. The role centers on building and evolving data pipelines that align with business requirements, delivering standardized, high-quality data for advanced analytics and operational use.
Responsibilities
- Apply MDM and data governance principles to ensure data relevancy, quality, security, and compliance across master data.
- Define platform requirements for MDM frameworks and tools (such as Profisee, Informatica, Reltio, and SAP MDG) and promote their adoption across teams.
- Collaborate with data modelers, governance leads, and business stakeholders to design and model master data entities.
- Develop, test, deploy, and evolve data curation and publishing capabilities to deliver consumable, harmonized data domains for analytics and operational use cases.
- Partner with architecture, Data Engineering, Data Governance, Product Managers, Delivery, and Data Management Services to curate ingested source data across multiple origins, including cleansing, validation, standardization, harmonization, and transformation for a single enterprise view.
- Work with Data Governance and business intelligence to drive the engineering and technical implementation of the master data solution, ensuring accountability across the organization.
- Lead MDM initiatives to establish a single source of truth, ensuring consistency and accessibility across business domains.
- Apply MDM and data governance concepts to business problems, lead workshops, and assess readiness for data governance strategies.
- Improve automation and CI/CD for the MDM platform and perform code reviews for peers.
- Provide direction to vendor staff within the engineering domain, overseeing the quality of their work and outputs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Management, or Information Technology.
- 5+ years of experience as an MDM Engineer with end-to-end design and development, hands-on with MDM tools (Profisee, SAP MDG, Informatica, Reltio, etc.) and Snowflake, Azure SQL Database.
- Knowledge of standard data models within master data domains such as Product, Customer, Finance, and Reference Data.
- Advanced SQL and the ability to build ETL/ELT processes using cloud platforms like Azure Data Factory or Matillion.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Within commuting distance to Tampa, Florida.

About the Role
As an Analyst Data Enablement, you will serve as the contact for all aspects of data engineering within the MDM data domain. The role carries end-to-end engineering accountability, translating technology and business needs into technical design within the MDM space and implementing data pipelines that meet requirements. Your contributions will focus on delivering data engineering pipelines on time, within budget, and with high quality standards.

Annual Base Salary Range
USD 88,000 - 110,000 per year
