Data Engineer, Mid

Responsibilities

• Deploy and enhance pipelines and platforms that organize disparate data and render it meaningful for analysis.
• Contribute to advanced technology solutions and execute data engineering activities on mission-centric projects.
• Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in an agile, high-velocity setting.
• Apply analytical exploration and data examination expertise to oversee the assessment, design, construction, and maintenance of scalable client platforms.
• Collaborate with clients to uncover data-driven answers that affect critical missions, from fraud detection to cancer research to national intelligence.

Requirements

• 3+ years deploying, configuring, and maintaining enterprise software and data systems in secure, air-gapped, or disconnected environments.
• 3+ years building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
• 2+ years using Python and SQL for data manipulation, automation, and pipeline development.
• Experience with distributed data and computing tools such as Spark or Databricks.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs in Python to support data ingestion and integration workflows.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch.
• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, secure deployment practices, and data security controls.
• Ability to work on site and operate independently in a SCIF environment with limited connectivity.
• TS/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree.

• Experience supporting data lake and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience with data modeling, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
• Experience with IAM, encryption, and security controls in cloud or on-prem environments.
• Experience with Palantir Foundry or similar enterprise data platforms.
• Knowledge of containerization or container orchestration technologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Work Model

• Remote: If listed as remote, in-person work at Booz Allen or a customer facility may still be required on occasions.
• Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility is expected, with potential visits to customer facilities as needed.
• Onsite: Work primarily at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers.

Compensation

• Salary range: 62,000 to 141,000 USD per year.
