Job Description
Mid level data engineer position at Booz Allen Hamilton focused on deploying and developing data pipelines and platforms to organize disparate data, supporting mission-driven projects while guiding a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and enhance pipelines and platforms that organize disparate data and render it meaningful for analysis.
- Contribute to advanced technology solutions and execute data engineering activities on mission-centric projects.
- Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in an agile, high-velocity setting.
- Apply analytical exploration and data examination expertise to oversee the assessment, design, construction, and maintenance of scalable client platforms.
- Collaborate with clients to uncover data-driven answers that affect critical missions, from fraud detection to cancer research to national intelligence.
Requirements
- 3+ years deploying, configuring, and maintaining enterprise software and data systems in secure, air-gapped, or disconnected environments.
- 3+ years building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
- 2+ years using Python and SQL for data manipulation, automation, and pipeline development.
- Experience with distributed data and computing tools such as Spark or Databricks.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs in Python to support data ingestion and integration workflows.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, secure deployment practices, and data security controls.
- Ability to work on site and operate independently in a SCIF environment with limited connectivity.
- TS/SCI clearance.

Nice If You Have
- 3+ years building enterprise data engineering solutions in the cloud, including AWS and Azure.
- Experience supporting classified data systems for the Department of Defense or Intelligence Community.
- Experience with cross-domain solutions and data transfer guard technologies.
- Experience supporting data lake and data warehouse architectures.
- Experience with data modeling, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
- Experience with IAM, encryption, and security controls in cloud or on-prem environments.
- Experience with Palantir Foundry or similar enterprise data platforms.
- Knowledge of containerization or container orchestration technologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Work Model
- Remote: If listed as remote, in-person work at Booz Allen or a customer facility may still be required on occasions.
- Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility is expected, with potential visits to customer facilities as needed.
- Onsite: Work primarily at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers.

Compensation
- Salary range: 62,000 to 141,000 USD per year.

Clearance
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
