Job Description

CorTech is seeking a Data Scientist / Machine Learning Engineer to build and deploy AI and deep learning solutions for the automotive industry. This onsite role in Auburn Hills, MI focuses on initiatives such as computer vision, predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and generative AI, with work conducted alongside cross-functional teams.

Role Focus

The position centers on designing and implementing machine learning solutions that address complex automotive challenges. The work includes both developing new AI capabilities and improving the performance and scalability of existing models for efficient computation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy AI models, including computer vision and generative AI, to solve complex automotive problems.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business challenges and identify opportunities for applying machine learning technologies.
  • Use generative AI models to support innovation in design, R&D, and manufacturing processes.
  • Optimize existing ML models for performance and scalability using CUDA advanced GPU architectures and parallel computing frameworks.
  • Design and implement machine learning pipelines for data preprocessing, model training, and evaluation using performance metrics.
  • Implement machine learning solutions in Python using PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Apply statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to address complex problems in the automotive sector.
  • Track and apply advancements in data science, machine learning, deep learning, and AI to support ongoing innovation within the company.
  • Develop and maintain documentation covering data analysis methods, model development, and deployment processes to support reproducibility and compliance with industry standards.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in machine learning, deep learning, and AI.
  • Strong understanding of Python, CUDA, and GPU architectures for parallel computing and model optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of machine learning architectures and techniques, with a focus on computer vision and generative AI.
  • Proficiency with deep learning frameworks including PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Experience with parallel computing and optimization for high-performance computing environments.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team setting and communicate complex concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Innovative approach and motivation for tackling challenging problems and pushing technological boundaries.
  • Solid analytical skills to interpret complex data and convert insights into strategic and practical solutions.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a machine learning engineering role, preferably in automotive or a related sector.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and deploying machine learning models for real-world applications.
  • Self-motivated approach with a focus on continuous learning and professional development.
  • Experience with Agile and a cloud provider such as Azure is a plus.
