DRAM Architect - Sr Engineer
Job Description
Micron Technology Inc is seeking a DRAM Architect to help shape high-impact DRAM system and component solutions in an onsite role in Boise, ID. In this position, you will focus on optimizing power, performance, and cost while working toward new memory capabilities and system-level improvements that support aggressive performance targets and time-to-market goals.
Working with global, multi-functional teams, you will analyze real system behavior, validate solution effectiveness through data-driven trade-offs, and communicate complex technical concepts across engineering backgrounds. The role also emphasizes driving innovation for future memory generations in a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive DRAM system and component solutions, including specifications and methodologies, to optimize DRAM performance, power efficiency, and cost.
- Partner with multi-functional teams to brainstorm and implement innovative ideas, evaluate solution efficiency, and make adjustments as needed, while driving innovation in future memory generations.
- Analyze system behavior to assess solution effectiveness, then apply data-driven optimizations and trade-off decisions.
- Explain complex technical concepts to engineers across different backgrounds and disciplines.
Requirements
- 3+ years of proven experience in memory design, product engineering, or system architecture and usage.
- Self-motivated approach with exceptional problem-solving skills and a drive to discover new solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with LPDDR5/6, DDR5/6, and GDDR6/7.
- Ability to identify and analyze complex organizational problems and develop innovative solutions.
- Experience with memory system modeling, performance simulation, or architectural trade-off analysis.
- Familiarity with JEDEC standards, DRAM specifications, and cross-layer (system-to-silicon) optimization.
