Job Description
Design and program electrical control systems for custom material handling and processing equipment at an onsite role in Abbotsford, WI.
Responsibilities
- Partner with mechanical engineers to understand machine function and translate requirements into electrical controls
- Specify control hardware, including PLCs, HMIs, servos, VFDs, sensors, pneumatics, safety components, networking, and vision
- Build and maintain a bill of materials for control system components
- Create control schematics using AutoCAD
- Develop ladder logic for PLCs
- Develop and support HMI functionality
- Perform servo sizing and controls
- Integrate and coordinate control interfaces with other machinery manufacturers
- Execute in-house testing and support customer runoff
- Work with customers throughout design, build, and installation processes
- Travel to customer facilities for startup as required (15% travel)
- Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
- BSEE or associate degree in a related field
- 2+ years of electrical engineering experience
- Rockwell CompactLogix programming experience
- AutoCAD experience
- Project management experience
- Creativity and problem solving skills
- Mechanical aptitude
