Electrical Design Engineer
Job Description
Actalent is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support product design work for emerging startups and to provide customer-facing engineering input focused on practical manufacturability. This contract role is fully onsite in Grantsville, UT and includes both technical ownership and mentoring responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical control panels, PLCs, and large-scale systems controls.
- Deliver expert feedback to improve designs for manufacturability.
- Lead and mentor newer engineers on the team.
- Support startups with refining electrical product designs.
- Engage with clients to provide customer-facing expertise and design guidance.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in hardware design and electrical engineering.
- Proficiency in PLC design and experience with large form factor products.
- Experience with HVAC thermal and liquid cooling systems.
- Knowledge of control and power distribution systems with a PLC-oriented focus.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
Work Environment
The position is based at a large manufacturing facility that produces products for multiple customers. The facility has grown from 1 to 3 customers this year and expects to add 2 to 5 more customers in the next year. The role supports professional development through hands-on work and provides opportunities to help newer companies strengthen product designs.

Contract Details, Location, and Workplace Type
This is a contract position based out of Grantsville, UT with a fully onsite work arrangement.
Pay Range and Compensation Notes
The pay range for this position is $52.88 - $57.69 per hour (USD 52 - 57). Individual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other job-related factors.
