Electrical Engineer

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support US Navy mission-critical government projects. This onsite role in Bayview, Idaho focuses on upgrading, designing, implementing, and testing advanced electronic systems used for operational needs.

The position involves engineering electronic circuitry and systems, working through requirements and cost considerations, and ensuring outputs align with relevant safety standards and regulations. The work also includes documentation, collaboration with stakeholders, and staying current with emerging technology trends.

Role Overview

As an Electronics-focused engineer, you will design, evaluate, and update electronic apparatus, components, and circuitry. You will also help plan and verify electrical system designs by analyzing customer needs, assessing capacity and cost, and recommending modifications or repairs based on system evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, modify, and evaluate electronic apparatus, components, or circuitry for use in electronic equipment and devices
• Design, test, inspect, and update electronic systems, components, and equipment, along with related software
• Analyze customer needs to determine requirements, capacity, and cost for developing an electrical system plan or product
• Evaluate systems and recommend design modifications or equipment repair
• Inspect electronic equipment, instruments, and systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and applicable regulations
• Draft specifications, instructions, and reports
• Partner with internal and/or external stakeholders and clients to complete projects to specifications
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and technology

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
• 2+ years of related experience
• Experience with Sensors and data acquisition
• Experience with signal processing and analysis
• Software experience with LabView and MATLAB
• Linux database administration experience
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance
• US citizenship required
• Work is performed at the customer site
