Job Description

This onsiteElectrical Engineer, Design (NPG) B role is based in Spring City, TN with TVA.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, schedules, and coordinates detailed electrical engineering activities for portions of large projects or for projects of moderate scope.
  • Performs work using conventional electrical engineering practices while addressing complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitable materials, and difficult coordination.
  • Requires broad knowledge of precedents in the specialty area and a solid understanding of related practices.
  • As a fully competent electrical engineer in all conventional aspects of the assignment, plans and conducts work requiring independent judgment to evaluate, select, and substantially adapt standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Devises new approaches to problems encountered.
  • Provides procurement and field engineering support, including walk-downs, modifications/maintenance, and testing support.
  • May supervise or coordinate the work of multidisciplinary engineers, drafters, technicians, and others who assist on specific assignments.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related engineering field.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer desirable.
  • Membership in professional and technical societies desirable.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access and S-3 and S-4 medical qualifications when applicable.
  • Must be able and willing to assume on-call rotational assignments which may include 24 hour a day, 7 day a week availability.
  • Must be willing and medically able to work rotating shifts and maximum overtime permitted by TVA procedures during peak periods.
  • Must be able and willing to travel to plant locations as required when performing assigned tasks and, as necessary, to be temporarily assigned to a field location.
  • Must have demonstrated proficiency in electrical engineering as evidenced by completion of Engineering Graduate Progression Plan or equivalent post engineering graduate education and experience.
  • At least five years of electrical engineering experience as noted in the ideal candidate statement.

Ideal Candidate Statement

The ideal candidate will possess at least five years of electrical engineering experience, including combinations of demonstrated performance as an electrical engineer or specialized technical expertise.
