Electrical Engineer/Principal Electrical Engineer

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Electrical Engineer/Principal Electrical Engineer for the Sentinel program in Roy, UT (onsite), supporting the Sentinel Systems Engineering, Integration, & Test (SEIT) Business Unit on the Weapon System Integration (WSI) Electrical Design Integration (EDI) Team.

Responsibilities

• May perform research, evaluation, and systems integration in electrical or electro-mechanical systems, including cables, connectors, circuit card assemblies, power systems, computer systems, and test equipment
• Create, assess, interpret, and recommend changes to engineering drawings
• Apply research to planning, design, development, simulation, and testing of electrical systems for military applications
• Support analysis across the total weapon system lifecycle: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance
• Convert product requirements into total systems solutions and translate customer requirements into electrical design specifications
• Lead system modeling and simulation efforts and related design tasking (technical whitepapers, presentations, stakeholder demos, etc.)
• Support consistent design and testing processes across the weapon system
• Actively learn new design techniques and technologies
• Organize and prioritize job assignments and tasks
• Assist in determining unit-under-test test requirements and translating them into a test and repair operational environment
• Use interpersonal skills to understand system-level interdependencies affecting electrical requirements and design constraints

Requirements

• US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years)
• Ability to receive Special Access Program (SAP) certification
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent STEM discipline) from an accredited university
• Minimum 1+ years working experience on ICBMs
• Minimum 1+ years working experience using CAD design tools (e.g., NX, Teamcenter, CATIA, Capital)
• Minimum 1+ years working experience using MBSE tools (e.g., DOORs, Cameo)
• Experience performing electrical troubleshooting, root-cause analysis (RCA), failure modes analysis (FMA), or similar
• Strong interdisciplinary problem-solving using technical standards, theories, concepts, and techniques
• Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision and also within a team environment

Electrical Engineer (T02)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent STEM discipline) with 2 years of relevant experience, or 0 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree
• Minimum 1+ years working experience on ICBMs
• Minimum 1+ years working experience using CAD design tools (e.g., NX, Teamcenter, CATIA, Capital)
• Minimum 1+ years working experience with MBSE tools (e.g., DOORs, Cameo)
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting, RCA, FMA, or similar
• Interdisciplinary problem-solving using technical standards and methods
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Principal Electrical Engineer (T03)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent STEM discipline) with 5 years of relevant experience, 3 years with a Master’s degree, or 1 year with a PhD
• Minimum 2+ years working experience on ICBMs
• Minimum 2+ years working experience using CAD design tools (e.g., NX, Teamcenter, CATIA, Capital)
• Minimum 2+ years working experience with MBSE tools (e.g., DOORs, Cameo)
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting, RCA, FMA, or similar
• Interdisciplinary problem-solving using technical standards and methods
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Past/Active employment with MMIII or Sentinel Weapon Systems
• Experience contributing towards various phases of a program lifecycle
• Experience with schematic design tools (e.g., Mentor Graphics, Zuken)
• Experience with networking and system architecture
• Experience with electro-mechanical or instrumentation system development and design
• Cable/harness design experience, especially following military, Northrop Grumman, and/or aviation standards
• Experience with CCA evaluation and design
• Experience using electrical measurement and test equipment

Salary

• USD 87,600 - 163,200 per yearly
• Primary Level Salary Range: $87,600.00 - $131,400.00
• Secondary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00
• Northrop Grumman determines base salary using factors including scope and responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and current market conditions

Incentives/Other Compensation

• Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay
• Annual bonuses may reward individual contributions and share in company results
• Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives
