Electrical Reliability Engineer
Job Description
The Electrical Reliability Engineer role at Linde focuses on predictive electrical analytics and reliability improvements for plant equipment, supporting RCFA investigations, developing monitoring tools, and collaborating across functions to enhance asset performance.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates broad and deep expertise in MV and LV motors, transformers, switchgear, and common IT hardware and tools.
- Analyze operational data to drive ongoing electrical analytics tool development and adopt new predictive technologies related to reliability, maintenance, lifecycle cost, and safety.
- Measure and lead the deployment and monitoring of predictive monitoring tools across installations.
- Coordinate external data services with development providers as part of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support operations teams with RCFA as an electrical equipment defects consultant and share learnings on a national level.
- Collaborate with Global EHC hubs to apply global best practices.
- Champions productivity projects tied to electrical assets and drives continuous improvement efforts.
- Develop and manage the integration of electrical equipment into predictive monitoring applications.
- Work with Reliability Centers, Electrical Experts, CoE Experts, and plant managers to assess feedback on monitoring and diagnostic technologies.
- Provide electrical system troubleshooting support and deliver training on electrical monitoring tools.
- Coordinate with Linde Engineering and vendors/service providers on equipment and technology development.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of electrical systems including power distribution, transformers, and motors.
- Strong diagnostics and troubleshooting capabilities for electrical systems and components (eg, PD analysis, Transformer Health, SEL).
- Familiarity with motor startup procedures and equipment arrangements.
- Basic understanding of control systems, networks, and IT tools.
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
- Experience in data science, analyzing complex, high-volume data from diverse sources to reveal patterns and relationships.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited).
- Ten years of relevant work experience in electrical systems within chemical or refining industrial complexes.
- Experience with predictive technologies and development initiatives.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical equipment and applications within production plants.
