Electronics Engineer

Leidos is seeking an Electronics Engineer to support the FAA Central Service Area Engineering Services Group in Des Moines, WA as part of BNATCS modernization. This role backs design, engineering, and deployment work, with responsibilities spanning site discovery through planning, proposal review, and ongoing project documentation.

Based onsite in Des Moines, WA, the position supports key activities that help BNATCS deployments move forward reliably. Work includes assessing infrastructure needs, coordinating with multiple FAA and technical stakeholders, and tracking progress through documentation and work plan updates.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys to assess infrastructure needs for BNATCS deployments.
• Develop site preparation requirements and cost estimates.
• Review contractor proposals to confirm technical accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate with FAA Service Centers, Technical Services, Air Traffic, and other stakeholders to manage risks and keep projects on schedule.
• Schedule and support site preparation, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Provide regular project status updates to leadership.
• Maintain Corporate Work Plan data, project documentation, and facility drawing updates.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering.
• Travel ability of 25–50%.
• Ability to obtain FAA Public Trust Suitability (U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder with 3 years’ residency).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software.

Additional Information

• Basic qualifications include 4 years of relevant experience preferred; candidates with less experience may be considered based on education, technical aptitude, and internships.

Location: Des Moines, WA (onsite)

Salary: USD 87,100 - 157,450 per year
