Facility Controls Engineer

Jireh Semiconductor is seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to support the manufacturing facility in Hillsboro, Oregon. The role focuses on controls engineering for facility systems, including PLC/SCADA/HMI programming, instrumentation, system checkout, and start-up assistance.

Position Overview

This position is responsible for controls engineering project requirements involving PLC/SCADA/HMI programming, instrumentation, check-out support, and start-up assistance. Work includes automation and control system integration projects for facilities systems and fire life safety, with opportunities to act as lead on select assignments.

Key Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and implements control system logic software and hardware to meet machine and integrated system requirements.
• Develops control logic software and user interface applications.
• Assists with initial start-up and debugging of integrated systems, and supports development of system documentation.
• Supports automation and control system integration projects for facilities systems and fire life safety.
• May serve as lead on some projects and guide lower-level engineers and technicians.
• Collaborates effectively with others and operates with self-direction under general supervision.
• Works in a cleanroom environment in alignment with semiconductor protocol and requirements.
• Uses technical documentation including piping and instrument diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel drawings, one-line drawings, loop sheets, databases, and vendor manuals; interprets and applies ISA standards and practices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• BSEE or BS in Electrical or Controls Engineering, or a Perry Technical Institute Graduate with equivalent experience.
• Experience in instrumentation and controls design, including PLC experience with one or more systems such as:
  • GE Fanuc PLCs (Proficy Machine Edition)
  • Allen Bradley PLCs (Rockwell 5, 500, 5000)
  • Device Net
  • Point I/O
  • ABB VFDs
  • Allen Bradley VFDs

Location and Compensation

Location: Hillsboro, OR (onsite).
Salary: USD 95,000 to 130,000 per year.
