FDE / AI Engineer

MLabs is building the core architecture of a software factory for the enterprise, and you will help shape how it works end-to-end. This is an opportunity to take meaningful ownership from day one with a significant equity stake, direct influence over product and architecture, and full immersion with a dedicated team in San Francisco.

What you’ll build

As the FDE / AI Engineer, you will own an end-to-end stack that starts with high-throughput telemetry capture and privacy pipelines, then moves into knowledge graphs and autonomous software generation agents. The goal is to transform enterprise workflows into structured models and production-ready applications.

Responsibilities

• Design and scale high-throughput, high-concurrency systems to collect desktop and system events across client operations.
• Architect automated redaction and anonymization mechanisms embedded into the core data ingestion pipeline.
• Build ingestion and retrieval mechanisms across unstructured documents to model complex enterprise workflows into structured knowledge graphs.
• Engineer AI agents that can generate, test, and deploy custom production software from workflow models.
• Integrate generated applications into client environments while maintaining high reliability in production.
• Personally execute the software factory process end-to-end for an active client, including mapping workflows from desktop telemetry, shipping automated solutions via coding agents, and abstracting manual steps into autonomous agent workflows for future deployments.

Requirements

• Deep proficiency with TypeScript, Rust, Tauri, PostgreSQL, Next.js, and Azure.
• Proven ability to drive projects from initial client discovery through robust production deployment.
• Willingness to work in a high-velocity, high-commitment environment with intense focus and discipline, including a “996” schedule.
• Strong instinct for user experience and enterprise workflow optimization.
• Direct, transparent communication and a collaborative spirit suited for an early-stage founding team environment.
• Based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco, CA for full-time, in-person collaboration.
• Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident (visa sponsorship is not available).

Client execution (first 30 days)

• Personally execute the software factory process end-to-end for an active client, mapping workflows from desktop telemetry, shipping automated solutions via coding agents, and abstracting manual steps into autonomous agent workflows for future deployments.

Compensation and location

• Salary: USD 150,000 - 250,000 per year
• Location: San Francisco, CA (On-Site), Full-time
