Job Description

The FMS Cybersecurity Engineer role, onsite in Arlington, VA, supports a U.S. Space Force system program office by identifying security weaknesses, proposing mitigations, and evaluating cybersecurity solutions for international satellite programs. The position includes deploying Zero Trust Architecture with international partners to enable secure collaboration in alignment with DoD requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assess potential weaknesses and determine appropriate mitigations.
  • Evaluate cybersecurity solutions for international satellite programs.
  • Collaborate with partner engineers to deploy cyber capabilities within partner environments.
  • Operationalize Zero Trust Architecture by coordinating rollout of Zero Trust controls such as identity management and micro-segmentation to support secure collaboration.
  • Deliver technical architecture that enables access to shared mission data without compromising national security.
  • Conduct deep-dive evaluations of cyber solutions to ensure partners obtain DoD‑compliant technology aligned with operational needs and workforce maturity.
  • Support the future space security cooperation and security assistance mission within the U.S. Space Force.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with enterprise IT engineering and cybersecurity architecture in high-tempo production environments, including designing and deploying defensive security solutions (IDPS, NGFW, EDR / XDR, SIEM, PCAP, DLP, or C2C) for hybrid IT environments.
  • 2+ years delivering cybersecurity projects in large, complex environments, including architecture design, implementation, integration, and coordination across engineering, operations, and leadership stakeholders.
  • Experience with cybersecurity technologies spanning SIEM, SOAR, RMF, endpoint security, vulnerability scanning, DLP, firewalls, IDS / NDR, PCAP analysis, virtualization, infrastructure platforms, and automation across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Experience architecting solution roadmaps and cybersecurity capabilities in alignment with standards such as NIST SP800-37, SP800-53, SP800-207, RMF, and the DoD Zero Trust Reference Architecture.
  • Ability to work on-site and proficient in Microsoft Office tools, with effective communication at the executive leadership level.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Information Assurance Management (IAM), Information Assurance Technical (IAT), or Information Assurance System Architect and Engineer (IASAE) Certification.

The Opportunity

Advance your cybersecurity expertise while contributing to international security cooperation. In this role you will support a U.S. Space Force program office by evaluating weaknesses and mitigations and assessing cybersecurity solutions for international satellite programs.

You Have

  • 5+ years of experience with enterprise IT engineering and cybersecurity architecture in high-tempo production environments, including designing and deploying defensive security solutions such as IDPS, NGFW, EDR / XDR, SIEM, PCAP, DLP, or C2C for hybrid IT environments.
  • 2+ years delivering cybersecurity projects in large, complex environments, including architecture design, implementation, integration, and coordination across engineering, operations, and leadership stakeholders.
  • Experience spanning SIEM, SOAR, RMF, endpoint security, vulnerability scanning, DLP, firewalls, IDS / NDR, PCAP analysis, virtualization, infrastructure platforms, and automation across on-premises and cloud environments to guide tool selection, integration, and maturation.
  • Experience architecting solution roadmaps and cybersecurity capabilities aligned with standards such as NIST SP800-37, SP800-53, SP800-207, RMF, and the DoD Zero Trust Reference Architecture.
  • Ability to work on-site, use Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint), and communicate effectively with executive leadership.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Information Assurance Management (IAM), Information Assurance Technical (IAT), or Information Assurance System Architect and Engineer (IASAE) Certification.

Nice If You Have

  • Experience with foreign military cyber units in OCONUS environments.
  • Experience delivering solutions using Agile, ITSM, ITIL, and SELC best practices.
  • TS/SCI clearance.
  • CISSP, GCIH, or GIAC Certification.

Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. A Secret clearance is required.

Compensation

The compensation range for this position at Booz Allen is typically USD 99,000 to 225,000 per year, determined by factors including location, education, knowledge, skills, and experience, along with contract-specific considerations.
