Forward Deployed AI Engineer

BCG X is building next-generation AI capabilities through an engineering team that owns analytics value end to end, from problem framing to deployment and adoption. As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer, you will collaborate with clients across regions and industries to help organizations become AI-led through end-to-end analytics and software development, with a focus on scalable, production-ready solutions.

This forward-deployed role is based in Manhattan Beach, CA with an onsite expectation and a career path that supports accelerated growth during your first year.

What you’ll do

• Own the full analytics value-chain end to end, including framing new business challenges, designing innovative algorithms, implementing and deploying scalable solutions, and enabling colleagues and clients to embrace AI.
• Build the next generation of AI solutions.
• Partner with clients across BCG regions and industries, including topics such as climate change, to design, build, and deploy new solutions.
• Develop and deliver thought leadership in scientific communities, including contributing to papers.
• Lead conferences on behalf of BCG X.

Key requirements

• Apply software development practices and standards to produce robust and maintainable software.
• Be actively involved across the software development life cycle.
• Guide non-technical teams and consultants using best practices for robust software development.
• Optimize and enhance computational efficiency of algorithms and software design.
• Be motivated by a fast-paced, service-oriented environment, including direct client interaction on new features for future product releases.
• Enjoy collaborating in teams to share software design and solution ideas.
• Bring strong problem-solving and intellectual curiosity across a range of industries and topics.
• Live within a reasonable commuting distance of your home office.
• Complete any degree programs (including part-time) before starting at BCG.

• Forward Deployed AI Engineer I: $110,000 USD
• Forward Deployed AI Engineer II: $145,000 USD
• Forward Deployed AI Engineer III: $160,000 USD
• Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer: $190,000 USD
