Forward Deployed AI Engineer

Boston Consulting Group’s BCG X Forward Deployed AI team works on deploying the next generation of AI solutions from end to end, while partnering directly with clients on new innovations. In this role in San Francisco, you’ll build scalable AI capabilities across the analytics value chain and help teams fully adopt AI, supported by a culture that also values technical thought leadership and conference leadership.

Role overview

• Own the analytics value chain end to end, including framing business challenges, designing innovative algorithms, implementing, deploying scalable solutions, and enabling colleagues and clients to embrace AI.
• Build next-generation AI solutions as part of BCG X’s rapidly growing engineering team.
• Partner with clients across BCG regions and industries to design, build, and deploy innovative solutions.
• Develop and deliver thought leadership in scientific communities and papers.
• Lead conferences on behalf of BCG X.
• Interact directly with clients on new features for future product releases.

Responsibilities

• Own the full analytics value-chain end to end: framing new business challenges, designing innovative algorithms, implementing and deploying scalable solutions, and enabling colleagues and clients to fully embrace AI.
• Actively engage in bringing new AI solutions to market as part of BCG X’s engineering team.
• Collaborate with clients to design, build, and deploy new and innovative solutions across regions and industries.
• Develop and deliver thought leadership in scientific communities and papers.
• Lead conferences on behalf of BCG X.
• Interact directly with clients on new features for future product releases.

Requirements

• Apply software development practices and standards to develop robust and maintainable software.
• Be actively involved in every part of the software development life cycle.
• Experience guiding non-technical teams and consultants in best practices for robust software development.
• Optimize and enhance computational efficiency of algorithms and software design.
• Be motivated by a fast-paced, service-oriented environment, including direct client interaction on new features for future product releases.
• Enjoy collaborating in teams to share software design and solution ideas.
• Be a natural problem-solver with intellectual curiosity across a breadth of industries and topics.
• Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of your home office.
• Degree programs, including part-time, must be completed before starting at BCG.

Compensation

Salary range: USD 120,000 - 200,000 per year.

• Forward Deployed AI Engineer I: $120,000 USD
• Forward Deployed AI Engineer II: $155,000 USD
• Forward Deployed AI Engineer III: $171,000 USD
• Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer: $200,000 USD
