Job Description
In this General Engineer role within the US Strategic Systems Programs portfolio, you will coordinate facilities-related initiatives at the Kings Bay site, acting as the primary liaison between SWFLANT and external stakeholders. The position centers on defining requirements, assessing scopes and schedules, monitoring progress through regular reporting and site visits, and ensuring that all deliverables meet functional, quality, and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Serve as SWFLANT's liaison to stakeholders and external organizations for facilities-related projects.
- Define and communicate organizational requirements, standards, and priorities.
- Review project scopes, designs, schedules, and proposals to confirm alignment with needs.
- Monitor progress through reports, meetings, and frequent on-site inspections.
- Identify project risks or deviations and recommend corrective actions.
- Validate that deliverables satisfy functional, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate internal stakeholders to gather requirements and resolve issues.
- Provide clear project status updates to organizational leadership.
- Support the review of change requests for impact on scope, cost, and schedule.
- Participate in commissioning, turnover, and readiness assessments.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Suitable for federal employment as determined by the appropriate authorities.
- Participation in the direct deposit pay program is required.
- New Department of the Navy hires must pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- Within the DoD, the appointment of retired military members within 180 days after retirement is subject to 5 U.S.C. 3326.

- You must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entering on duty.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) and requires certification within the assigned Acquisition Functional Area and category within established timelines.
- The role may require travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations, including remote or isolated sites, and travel on military or commercial aircraft for extended periods.
- Education: A professional engineering degree (ABET-accredited) or equivalent professional registration/licensure (EI/EIT/PE) or FE is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience is expected.
