HVAC Project Engineer

Optimum Energy Design is hiring a mid to senior level HVAC Project Engineer to lead HVAC design work onsite in Anaheim, CA. This full-time role focuses on end-to-end project delivery, including engineering design, coordination, and key construction-phase responsibilities. If you have a strong background in HVAC system application and selection along with hands-on construction administration experience, this position offers a clear path to take ownership of project outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage HVAC design projects from planning through design deliverables
• Attend client meetings and site visits as required
• Review HVAC submittals for compliance and coordination
• Respond to RFIs during the project lifecycle
• Perform construction site observations as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in HVAC design
• Thorough knowledge of HVAC system application and selection
• Experience with duct and piping design
• Working knowledge of controls
• Experience performing load calculations
• Knowledge of LEED
• Understanding of energy compliance (Title-24)
• Construction administration experience required, including review of submittals, responding to RFIs, and construction site observations
• Strong communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree (Required)

• AutoCAD: 5 years (Preferred)
