Job Description

iCivil Inc. is seeking a Hydraulics and Hydrology Engineer to support water resources design and permitting efforts. This role focuses on hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, stormwater management, and related design documentation across multiple projects in a hybrid setting in Lutherville-Timonium, MD.

Employment Details

  • Job type: Full-time
  • Schedule: 10 hour shift; 8 hour shift; Day shift; Evening shift; Night shift; Overnight shift; Weekends as needed
  • Pay: USD 110,000 - 125,000 per year

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering with emphasis in Water Resources

Summary of the Role

The position will support water resources design and permitting tasks, including drainage, stormwater management, hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling, and erosion and sediment control. The role requires U.S. residency and relocation to Lutherville-Timonium, MD.

Responsibilities

  • Handle multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Provide excellent written and oral communication in support of design and coordination activities.
  • Apply Federal, State, and local jurisdiction design standards and permitting regulations to design work.
  • Complete design tasks, including roadway and site grading plan development, drainage design, and stormwater management design.
  • Develop erosion and sedimentation control plans, construction staging and sequencing plans, and watershed studies.
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for water resources projects.
  • Support design and inspection of traditional and innovative green stormwater infrastructure and SWM BMPs in both urban and rural environments.
  • Complete assignments using working knowledge of applicable design criteria, regulatory requirements, standards, and processes.
  • Coordinate with contractors, outside consultants, and government agencies.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in Water Resources Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (preferred)
  • Hydrologic modeling experience using TR55 / TR20 and Rational Methodologies
  • Hydraulic modeling experience using WMS, HEC-RAS, HY-8, HydroCAD, Hydraulic Toolbox, TVHG, SHARISER, CSLE 2022, GISHYDRONXT, and Atlas 14
  • Stormwater Management design experience
  • Erosion and Sediment Control design experience
  • MicroStation Inroads/OpenRoads Designer and AutoCAD Civil 3D design and drafting experience
  • Contract document preparation including Plans, Specifications and Cost Estimates
  • Proficiency in MS Office Software
  • Knowledge of Maryland State Highway Department of Transportation and/or Maryland Transportation Authority design standards and Maryland Department of Environmental permitting processes
  • 2-D modeling experience using SWMM or comparable model
  • Experience with ORD SUDA
  • Experience with advanced hydraulic modeling
  • U.S. Residency Required
  • Lutherville-Timonium, MD 21093: Relocate before starting work (Required)
