Metropolitan Transportation Authority Construction & Development is seeking an Assistant Engineer Level 2 to support the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical systems and facilities. This hybrid role in New York, NY positions you to work across multiple design projects under supervision, applying standard engineering practices to advance the region’s capital program.
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering tasks by applying knowledge of design criteria, regulatory requirements, standards, and processes.
- Provide engineering support on several design projects, analyzing and documenting critical design elements.
- Develop site layout and grading plans, elevated structures, roadway/transit/pedestrian facilities, marine structures, utility design, stormwater management facilities, and erosion and sediment control plans and details.
- Coordinate with team members to determine requirements and incorporate feedback.
- Coordinate with Agency Owners, designers, contractors, outside consultants, and other government agencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, Communications, Track, Signals, Environmental, or Fire Protection engineering.
- Minimum of three (3) years of related experience.
- Successful completion of the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- Capability to work on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
