Information Security Engineer

Manpower Engineering is looking for an Information Security Engineer to support SOC activities as part of an Information Security team in Foster City, CA (onsite). The role concentrates on keeping SIEM and SOAR capabilities operating effectively, improving detection quality, and using automation and threat hunting to reduce gaps in response.

In this position, you will tune detections, build and refine SOAR playbooks, and use Python to automate repeatable SOC tasks. You will also analyze alerts and data across multiple sources to proactively identify potential indicators of compromise.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize SIEM and SOAR platforms to support reliable detection and efficient security response.
• Develop and fine-tune SIEM detection and correlation rules, along with dashboards and reports, to identify anomalous activity.
• Create, manage, and continuously improve SOAR playbooks that automate incident response workflows and streamline SOC operations.
• Use Python scripting to build custom integrations and automate repetitive SOC tasks, including alert triage and incident response support.
• Perform proactive threat hunting by analyzing alerts and data from multiple sources to find potential gaps and indicators of compromise.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in a Security Engineering role supporting a SOC environment or a similar function.
• Demonstrable experience with SOAR platforms (including Palo Alto Cortex XSOAR, Splunk SOAR, or Tines) and playbook development.
• Python proficiency for scripting and automation of security tasks.
• Strong understanding of incident response methodologies, threat intelligence, and cybersecurity frameworks including MITRE ATT&CK and NIST.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
