Lead Analytics Engineer
Job Description
EasyPay Finance is building analytics that connect lending systems into one governed SQL Server database. In this hybrid role in Vista, CA, you will operate the platform end to end while consolidating data ingestion, modeling, KPI definitions, and daily production reporting. You will lead an analyst and develop reusable analytics assets that help the business trust what they see.
What you’ll be doing
- Run the analytics database and scheduled jobs with reliability, monitoring, and documentation.
- Ingest new data sources via vendor APIs, including CRM, contact center, and lending platforms, using incremental, restartable loads.
- Transform raw datasets into modeled tables and views designed for business confidence.
- Deliver operational reporting that must be correct every day, including call lists, merchant partner reporting, and management reports.
- Own the data dictionary and partner with business owners on KPI definitions.
- Lead one analyst, setting direction and improving quality standards across deliverables.
What you bring
- 5+ years running production data pipelines and reporting.
- Strong SQL Server skills, including window functions, deduplication, and performance tuning on large tables.
- Python experience for API extraction and data pipeline implementation.
- Experience operating scheduled jobs with logging, alerting, and quality checks.
- Experience publishing data to a BI tool and supporting users of that BI reporting.
- Comfort working in Git for version control and collaboration.

First 90 days
- Learn: get up to speed on the business and the current platform.
- Operate: take over daily operations of the platform alongside the team.
- Deliver: land one new data source end to end.
- Define: produce the first shared KPI definitions, documented and agreed.
Preferred qualifications
- Consumer lending or financial services experience.
- Experience with Salesforce or Genesys Cloud Data.
- BI tools such as Tableau, Metabase, ThoughtSpot, Omni, or similar.
- Experience with dbt, Azure SQL, or AI/LLM tooling on data.
Compensation and location
Compensation is based on work location. Vista, CA (hybrid) and San Diego (onsite/hybrid) roles are listed at $150,000–$180,000 base per year. Remote roles outside California are listed at $135k–$160k base per year, set by the labor market for the candidate’s location. Individual offers within each range depend on job-related factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications.
