Lead AWS Security Engineer
Job Description
The role leads the development and maintenance of cloud security detections and tooling at State Farm, collaborating with product teams to secure public cloud adoption and participating in on-call rotations.

Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance a Python-based cloud detection tool.
- Collaborate with technical teams across the enterprise to develop and test cloud detection rules.
- Research new cloud services and translate findings into additional or updated detections.
- Communicate changes to cloud vulnerability management, including new detections and broader monitoring scope.
- Participate in rotating on-call duties to support systems in production.
Requirements
- Six or more years of experience in application or infrastructure development and support within AWS.
- Experience with development tooling and practices such as Python, GitLab, and Terraform.
- Knowledge of information security industry standards and practices.
- Awareness of current threats and trends affecting the information security landscape.
- Demonstrated problem solving mindset and curiosity.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative agile team environment.
- Adaptability to changing conditions and priorities.
