Job Description

Join Deloitte in Seattle, WA as a Lead Generative AI Data Engineer III. This onsite role centers on end-to-end ML and AI solution delivery, building robust data pipelines, and guiding AI engineering workstreams, all while mentoring junior practitioners. You will collaborate with engineers, data scientists, product stakeholders, and business teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions. Situated within Deloitte's Government & Public Services practice and our AI & Data offering, this position supports federal, state, and local government clients as well as public higher education institutions. The role comes with a competitive salary range of USD 159,100 to 265,100 per year and a discretionary annual incentive program. On average, expect travel up to 20 percent based on client needs. This opportunity requires onsite work in Seattle and eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future, as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle of ML and AI solutions for business and client use cases, including design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Oversee AI engineering workstreams by assigning tasks, reviewing outputs, and driving quality, timeliness, and issue resolution across the team.
  • Architect and manage data pipelines, model training workflows, and production-grade components that enable AI-enabled products.
  • Partner with engineers, data scientists, product stakeholders, and business teams to turn requirements into scalable technical solutions and guide technical decisions.
  • Coach and mentor junior practitioners, provide day-to-day guidance, and monitor performance to improve accuracy, reliability, and scalability of models and applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 7+ years of professional experience.
  • 5+ years designing, developing, or deploying machine learning, AI, or advanced analytics solutions.
  • 3+ years programming with Python, PySpark, PyTorch, and TensorFlow.
  • 2+ years of technology consulting experience in the State Government or Local Government sector.
  • 2+ years leading technical teams, projects, or workstreams delivering AI or ML solutions.
  • 1+ years experience with AI technologies such as Gemini, Anthropic, and OpenAI.
  • Active or advanced certifications in Python, PySpark, PyTorch, and TensorFlow.
  • Ability to travel up to 20 percent, on average.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
