  • Architect and run production systems on AWS with emphasis on scalability, cost efficiency, observability, and fault tolerance
  • Guide end-to-end delivery across multiple systems, balancing domain objectives, technical constraints, and priorities to ship meaningful features
  • Drive technical decisions, shape system design, and own key components of the platform
  • Create clear, versioned event schemas and APIs for downstream consumers and external integrations
  • Operate as an autonomous technical liaison and team representative
  • Mentor junior engineers and present to executive audiences
  • Contribute to estimation and planning of complex scalable projects
  • This role may require occasional travel, estimated at 10 to 15 percent

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including work on distributed, production systems
  • At least 3 years of cross-team technical leadership with end-to-end ownership of multi-service initiatives and driving scalable architecture decisions
  • Leads through technical influence rather than direct people management
  • Expertise building real-time or streaming data pipelines, including event ingestion, aggregation, windowing, and emission
  • Experience with AWS IoT Core, Kinesis, Kafka, and MQTT
  • Expert-level proficiency in Java
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch, and time-series databases like Timestream or InfluxDB
