Machine Learning Engineer - Vision
Job Description
Hadrian Automation is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer focused on computer vision for its manufacturing intelligence pipeline.
Responsibilities
- Research, develop, and deploy object detection and segmentation models for layout analysis, document understanding, and semantic part understanding
- Partner with the core engineering team to build and maintain annotation tooling
- Implement active learning loops to improve model performance over time
- Engineer synthetic data augmentation strategies to support training and evaluation
- Develop evaluation frameworks with metrics that go beyond mAP/IoU, quantifying system behavior and user impact more precisely
- Collaborate with machine learning team members to define the technical and product roadmaps for the AI platform
- Drive down performance gaps across the long tail, recognizing that incremental accuracy improvements translate to man-year time savings at scale
Requirements
- 5-8 years of professional experience building and shipping computer vision models, with emphasis on detection and/or segmentation
- Deep expertise with modern architectures using transformer backbones (for example, ViT, Swin)
- Strong Python and PyTorch fluency, including building custom training loops, loss functions, and data loaders from scratch when needed
- Production deployment ownership, including shipping models to production and being responsible for endpoint and model health
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience valued equally

Compensation
- Target salary range: $160,000 - $250,000 per year (actual range may vary based on experience)
