Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
Howmet Aerospace is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to strengthen plant performance through practical process standardization, continuous improvement, and automation. This onsite role in Berea, OH centers on safety and quality-focused best practices, data-driven decision-making, and measurable optimization across key manufacturing areas.
What you’ll do
- Build and maintain standard work for critical shop floor processes, systems, and related activities
- Drive continuous improvement efforts, including running small-scale Kaizen events
- Develop relevant performance data and present it to management and supervisors to support improvement actions
- Identify, communicate, and support adoption of best practices that reinforce both safety and quality
- Design and develop automation solutions for manufacturing processes
- Partner with operations to set goals and measure key indicators across safety, quality, cost, and delivery
- Support optimization efforts covering waste elimination, quality improvements, operating system controls, material flow, footprint development, and efficiency gains
- Facilitate project identification and tracking to verify and measure improvements over time
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Aerospace engineering
- Minimum 2 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (internships can be included)
- Knowledge of PLC and Ladder logic
- Equivalent hands-on applicable experience will also be considered in lieu of a degree
