Manufacturing Engineer/Planner

Manufacturing Engineer/Planner at Alva Manufacturing supports CNC machining and secondary operations planning to help deliver customer requirements on time.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, required data, and engineering inputs to plan manufacturing operations using the ERP system while meeting customer requirements
• Create work orders that include clear instructional steps to complete each job
• Complete the contract review process for all customer contracts
• Serve as the primary technical and engineering contact for customer questions and concerns
• Prepare drawings for digital packages and DPD/MBD requirements when needed
• Prepare and submit drawing deviation requests to customers as necessary
• Develop purchase requisitions for required materials and all outside processing
• Support purchasing with drawing and model packages for outsourcing or off-loading parts when required
• Support Production Expeditor by prioritizing tasks to support customer on-time delivery
• Provide technical support to shop floor personnel for engineering questions
• Design and prepare tooling for match drilling and hardware installation when needed
• Assist with setup and perform match drilling and hardware installation when needed

Requirements

• 5 years of experience or more in a related position
• Education: high school minimum; no Bachelor degree in engineering required if sufficient technical knowledge is demonstrated
• Knowledge of one CAD tool: NX, or CATIA, or Solidworks
• Strong understanding of machining operations and secondary manufacturing processes
• Ability to identify critical manufacturing notes at each step
• Capability to read prints and update paperwork with neat, accurate, organized documentation
• Familiarity with the Aerospace industry and AS9100 requirements
• Strong understanding of ANSYS Y14.5 and GD&T engineering drawings
• Can work independently while contributing effectively to the department team
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to think critically
• Ability to increase the performance of peers and subordinates
