Mechanical Engineer

Synerfac Technical Staffing is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for an onsite role in Newtown, PA. This position focuses on designing, building, and testing new thermal and electrical power generation systems, with daily collaboration across multiple engineering domains and with internal and external partners.

The work is hands-on and cross-disciplinary, spanning mechanical, chemical, plasma, thermal, vacuum, and electrical systems. The successful candidate will plan and execute engineering tasks end-to-end, from fabrication support through diagnostics, while maintaining clear documentation of test outcomes and technical decisions.

What you’ll do

• Plan, design, fabricate, assemble, and test power generation systems and components.
• Carry out optical power measurements, generator testing, data acquisition, and diagnostic work.
• Integrate mechanical, chemical, plasma, thermal, vacuum, and electrical systems to address complex engineering challenges.
• Coordinate with machinists, fabricators, and external vendors to enable fabrication and resolve assembly or testing issues.
• Document test results, analyze data, and communicate technical challenges, solutions, timelines, and resource requirements.

What you’ll need

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field, plus hands-on mechanical experience.
• Experience with vacuum systems, data acquisition, and data analysis.
• Ability to design and integrate mechanical, electrical, chemical, plasma, and thermal systems.
• Experience designing or implementing monitoring, control, data acquisition, and data analysis systems.
• Comfort with hands-on prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and cross-disciplinary engineering problem-solving.

Compensation and location

• Location: Newtown, PA (onsite)
• Salary: USD 150,000 - 205,000 per year
