Mechanical Engineer

Join the Chimney Systems Division at The Schebler Company in Bettendorf, IA (onsite) as a Mechanical Engineer providing technical support across design, engineering, sales engineering, and product development.

Responsibilities

• Create system design drawings for UL listed systems used in customer proposals and submittals.
• Deliver engineering expertise for new and existing projects within assigned areas.
• Support production with engineering input for special custom parts.
• Collaborate with the sales team on special project requirements.
• Produce cost estimates for job opportunities aligned with division and company goals.
• Perform system pressure calculations as required.
• Support the concept, design, and pricing of new parts and products.
• Identify and evaluate new product applications across the division.
• Champion Schebler products and help drive product development efforts tied to maintaining market leadership.
• Coordinate ongoing and new UL testing for current and new products.
• Coordinate intellectual property protection for the product portfolio.
• Build relationships with national and regional technical organizations, including presenting at conferences.
• Assist with other technical tasks as needed within the Chimney Systems Division.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field (required).
• 2–3 years of professional engineering experience (preferred).
• Registered P.E. (structural) highly desired, or willingness to obtain.
• Working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor or comparable 3D modeling software.
• Proficiency with standard office software.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively with management, field employees, customers, and the public.
