Mid-Level Structural Analysis Engineer – Interiors Stress

Join Boeing in North Charleston, SC (onsite) as a Level 3 Mid-Level Structural Analysis Engineer supporting the 787 Interiors Stress team. In this role, you will help establish and validate the structural environment for Boeing 787 Aircraft Interiors products using classical hand analysis, Finite Element methods, and/or Dynamic Simulation tools. This is a 1st shift position with an expected pay range of $103,700 to $140,300 for Experienced (Level 3) roles.

What You’ll Do

• Perform stress analysis for Boeing 787 Aircraft Interiors products using classical hand analysis methods, Finite Element tools/methods, and/or Dynamic Simulation tools/methods.
• Review supplier documents to support supplier technical oversight, including engineering drawings, analysis, test plans, procedures, and reports.
• Develop, integrate, and document structural requirements to establish Interior Commodity designs.
• Coordinate with other engineering groups to define the product environment, including load cases, interface architecture, and interface loads.
• Guide product design and verify structural integrity across the product lifecycle to establish structural environment, characteristics, and performance.
• Develop test plans and configurations, support test execution, and analyze/report test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
• Define and document certification and test results to substantiate requirements for customers and regulatory agencies.
• Support in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.
• Develop certification-related documentation to support CFR Part 25 Type Cert projects.
• Collaborate and provide oversight on projects with domestic and international partners/suppliers.
• Actively support the growth and development of a new engineering organization.
• Work under general direction.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical, or Material Sciences.
• 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of experience performing stress analysis on Interiors or related structures.
• 1+ years of experience working with Buyer-Furnished and Supplier-Furnished Equipment.
• Prior experience with manufacturing/production systems.

Skills and Experience That Help

• 5+ years working on aircraft interiors such as Galleys, Lavatories, In-Flight Entertainment, Seats, In-Seat Power Systems, Crew Rest, Cabin Lighting, Interior Panels, Stow Bins, Cargo Systems, and more.
• Experience developing certification-related documentation.
• Experience developing test plans/procedures or leading test execution.
• Experience providing supplier technical oversight.
• Knowledge and experience working with Part 21 and Part 25 Code of Federal Regulations and interacting with Federal Regulators.
