KPFF's Special Projects Division seeks a Structural Engineer-Diver to contribute to marine and port infrastructure projects and underwater inspections. Based in Tacoma, Washington with a hybrid work arrangement, this role blends structural engineering with field diving responsibilities and offers opportunities to grow in design and project management skills. The position carries a salary range of USD 90,000 - 160,000 per year.

Responsibilities

Engage in a diverse mix of projects including port developments, marine engineering works, ferry terminals, shipyards, fish and wildlife facilities, naval facilities, small boat marinas, municipal structures, floating platforms, and design-build infrastructure.
Advance design work while developing project management capabilities.
Deliver exceptional service and clear communication to clients.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
EIT certification is required.
Minimum of two years' experience performing underwater and topside inspections of marine infrastructure.
Comfort operating small watercraft.
Active ADCI certification card.
Ability to conduct dives using SCUBA and surface-supplied air.
Willingness to travel.
Current First Aid, CPR, AED, and Oxygen Administration certifications.
Current or ability to pass an ADCI compliant dive physical.
Experience in design of concrete, steel, and timber structures.
Knowledge of ASCE 61-14, AASHTO, IBC, ASCE-7, AISC, ACI, and NDS standards.

Responsibilities

Deliver structural engineering services that meet Worley, client, and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
Initiate, manage and supervise project requirements as needed.
Participate in relevant meetings and prepare progress reports.
Follow required checking procedures and ensure the project scope is clear, with changes compliant to change management processes.
Write requisitions, conduct technical bid evaluations, and issue purchase orders.
Support procurement, construction, and commissioning activities; lead structural engineering on selected projects when required.

Requirements

Strong technical and practical engineering skills with a track record of delivering quality, accurate, timely work for Worley and its customers.
Solid understanding of fundamental structural engineering principles and the basics of other engineering disciplines.
Knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory/regulatory requirements.
Proficiency with structural software such as STAAD and Foundation3D.
Competent use of MS Office Suite, Navisworks, and Point Cloud Manager.
Substantial structural engineering experience in downstream manufacturing or similar industries, including work on multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC card and pass background checks.
Civil Engineering degree.
