Job Description

Kaemark Furnishings is hiring a Millwork Engineer to transform architectural drawings and design concepts into production-ready engineering deliverables. This hybrid role in Giddings, TX supports manufacturing by producing accurate, complete, and on-time millwork and Microvellum documentation.

Role Overview

The Millwork Engineer develops detailed Microvellum models and engineering packages that translate design intent into shop drawings, cut lists, and CNC data. The position focuses on delivering millwork documentation that helps the team meet milestones with minimal surprises.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build detailed, manufacturable Microvellum models and complete engineering packages.
  • Create accurate shop drawings, cut lists, and CNC data.
  • Meet project milestones, deadlines, and KPIs defined by the Engineering Manager.
  • Coordinate and communicate with engineering, design, sales, project management, production, and installation teams to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Provide written communication and job status updates on work in progress.
  • Develop custom construction details when needed to match the design intent within the contracted scope of work.
  • Complete submittals in a timely manner and in line with company lead times.
  • Manage time effectively and prioritize assigned tasks.
  • Attend daily Engineering team meetings to share project statuses.
  • Partner with management to improve engineering processes, including Microvellum templates, spec groups, libraries, and standards.
  • Manage multiple projects at varying stages (4 to 6) with a high sense of urgency.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Microvellum.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the commercial millwork industry.
  • Strong understanding of architectural and millwork drawings, including floor plans, elevations, and sections.
  • Exposure to CNC programming and familiarity with millwork fabrication, joinery, and machining processes.
  • Technical knowledge of architectural millwork, CNC equipment operation, and woodworking construction methods.
  • Ability to speak and write clearly and articulately without being overly verbose.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to prevent overlooked items and support 98% engineering accuracy.
  • Demonstrated persistence, reliability, and consistent performance.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities and changing conditions.
  • High personal and team performance standards.
  • Organizational skills to efficiently manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Construction Technology, Architectural Drafting, Engineering, Woodworking, or a related field is preferred, but not required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of AWI Standards, preferred but not required.

Compensation

  • Salary range: $60,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year
  • Pay is strictly based on years of experience and skill set.
