PCBA Process and Test Engineer

STARTECX Inc. is hiring a PCBA Process and Test Engineer for an onsite role in Garland, TX. The position focuses on building and strengthening PCBA assembly and testing so new products can move into production with higher yield, stronger test coverage, and repeatable results.

Working across engineering, production, and quality, you will help resolve defects, investigate failures at the component and circuit level, and support process improvements with clear documentation and training for shop-floor teams. The role includes developing test procedures and fixtures, validating manufacturing readiness, and partnering with contract manufacturers and suppliers when manufacturing or component issues arise.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain PCBA assembly and test processes, including work instructions and inspection criteria.
• Support new product introduction through design reviews, prototype builds, process validation, and production readiness activities.
• Develop, validate, and maintain functional test procedures, test fixtures, and automated test equipment.
• Troubleshoot PCBAs to component and circuit level using schematics and electronic test equipment.
• Investigate assembly and test failures, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor yield, defects, and test outcomes, and recommend improvements to quality, throughput, and repeatability.
• Coordinate with contract manufacturers and suppliers to resolve manufacturing and component issues.
• Train production technicians on assembly, inspection, testing, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Maintain accurate engineering documentation, test records, and change controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Experience in PCBA manufacturing processes, functional testing, and fault diagnosis.
• Ability to read schematics, PCB layouts, bills of materials, and technical drawings.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and other electronic test equipment.
• Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Compensation: USD 70,000 - 90,000 per year.
