Job Description
ATAC is seeking a Principal Aviation Safety Analytics Engineer to advance aviation safety research by building analytics, AI/ML data tools, and safety metrics for FAA technical efforts.
Responsibilities
- Work with in-house FAA researchers, laboratory personnel, developers, programmers, contract support, and research partners (including NASA, MITRE, and universities) to strengthen separations standards analysis capabilities
- Design and implement new aviation safety metrics
- Develop data processing tools using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML)
- Support aviation safety data analyses by automating analysis workflows and report generation
- Contribute to user interface and visualization development for data exploration and safety metric presentation
- Restructure, clean, and process historical data to enable analysis and metric development
- Support creation of functional requirements and software documentation
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 20+ years of related job experience
- Strong software development skills
- Proficiency with Big Data analytics
- Proficiency with cloud-based solutions
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal relations skills
- US citizenship or permanent residency

Compensation
- USD 150,000 - 165,000 per year
