Responsibilities
- Provide on‑call support for major outages related to the Palo Alto Strata Cloud Manager
- Maintain the Prisma Access environment using Strata Cloud Manager
- Develop integrations of Prisma Access with other cybersecurity solutions
- Serve as a liaison between Navy Federal Credit Union and Palo Alto Support
- Engage in technical design of solutions based on use cases and business requirements
- Participate in proofs of concept and technical evaluations, providing recommendations
- Stay current on emerging technologies and threats, proactively assessing adoption into the organization
- Support the development of cybersecurity requirements, design artifacts, plans and policies
- Assist in defining security development and test efforts and implementing security controls across networking devices, databases, operating systems, and hardware/software components
- Understand and integrate cybersecurity development activities
- Analyze cybersecurity data and test results
- Contribute to a team that designs, protects, and manages security services for the global security infrastructure
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to audiences ranging from IT staff to executive leaders
- Collaborate with IT administrators to understand requirements and position tools to meet them
- Lead discussions on engineering solutions and provide strategic recommendations
- Remain self‑motivated and proactive while contributing effectively in a team environment
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- 10+ years of cybersecurity engineering experience, spanning on‑premises and cloud architectures, proxy management, cloud governance, and security controls
- 5+ years of direct hands‑on experience with Palo Alto Strata Cloud Manager, Panorama, or comparable leading technology
- 3+ years of direct hands‑on tuning of network sensors (IDS/IPS, DDoS, Cloud Security services)
- Domain expertise in network security sensors (IDS, CASB, virtual networks, DDoS protections, DNS, etc.)
- Solid understanding of virtual networking technologies including routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, and proxies
- Good exposure to cloud standards, architectures, and models
- Strong Linux (or similar) operating system proficiency
- Deep knowledge of TCP, UDP, ICMP, and IP protocols
- PowerShell and Python experience
- Experience with Splunk
- Experience with PKI, SSL, SSH, HTTPS, etc.
- Experience with leading firewalls, proxies, and load balancing solutions
- Solid understanding of network security concepts and principles
- Experience with server and endpoint operating system security
- Experience with Azure cloud, Cloud Proxy, SASE, SD‑WAN, Web Isolation, and Zero Trust Network Access
- CISSP, CCNP Security, or other relevant Palo Alto certifications
