Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Apply end-to-end Systems Engineering for Anti-Tamper and Cybersecurity, covering architecture design, trade studies, requirements development, detailed design, unit and system testing, and V&V practices.
  • Assist in developing and implementing hardware and software Anti-Tamper and CyberSecurity techniques and countermeasures to protect assets and enhance operational integrity and reliability.
  • Ensure adherence to US Government policies such as JSIG, DAAPM, NIST 800-53, CNSSI 1253, and DODI 5200.39 by supporting secure system architecture, reviewing processes, tailoring control sets, producing documented procedures, and overseeing security testing and analysis.
  • Perform rigorous analyses to validate existing security requirements and design additional safeguards as needed to strengthen system security.
  • Collaborate with the US Government and program teams to negotiate and develop Anti-Tamper and CyberSecurity solutions for international export markets, ensuring compliance with Tri-Service Committee and Red Team requirements for US-deployed and exported military systems.
  • Leverage reverse engineering to design and validate robust Anti-Tamper and CyberSecurity solutions.
  • Carry out Technical Release Analyses in line with government security governance and licensing precedents; prepare, assess, and certify Controlled Unclassified Information and higher classifications determinations for licensing.
  • Coordinate technology release efforts with program personnel and SMEs to achieve successful outcomes, including developing and delivering training on Technology Release processes.
  • Oversee analyses and modifications for system, subsystem, or sensor exportability to ensure compliance with international standards.
  • Apply working knowledge of cryptographic security protocols to protect sensitive information.
  • Support formal Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) processes mandated by US Government authorities through thorough pre-test preparations, active testing participation, result analysis, and reporting.
  • Document findings from Assessment and Authorization activities and related efforts, while maintaining system Security Plans and updating the Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M).
  • Contribute to strategic planning for Anti-Tamper and CyberSecurity technology development that aligns with global priorities and informs current and future policies.
  • Collaborate with program teams and global Business Development stakeholders to incorporate international requirements into design processes and drive product line initiatives for global market success.
  • Participate in communities of practice to grow domain knowledge and support ongoing professional development across the organization.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 5 years of related experience; or a Master’s degree in STEM with 3 years; or a PhD in STEM with 1 year of related experience.
  • Two years of Systems Engineering experience with DoD-based platforms, sensors and/or sub-systems, including EO/IR, embedded software or cryptography, Satellite, architecture development, hardware design, RF, radar, or undersea sensors.
  • Two years of experience with requirements development, derivation, system integration and test, and validation and verification.
  • Two years of experience with Anti-Tamper or Cyber Security, reverse engineering, and/or Cyber Security Risk Management Framework / Cyber Resiliency.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain at least a Secret Clearance with potential for additional customer specified clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or related technical fields
  • Active Secret or Top-Secret clearance
  • Experience with Systems Engineering development of DoD weapon systems
  • Experience with Hardware (Firmware) Assurance, Software Attack Surface Analysis, Software/Firmware Encryption, and Secure Key Handling
  • Experience identifying and mitigating software assurance vulnerabilities and performing integration testing of mitigations
  • Experience contributing to or delivering technical presentations to internal and external customers
