Principal Systems Engineer FWO
Job Description
The onsite Principal Systems Engineer FWO role in Fort Worth leads end-to-end systems engineering activities across requirements analysis and management, technical planning, system design and integration, verification and validation, cost and risk management, and supportability for total systems.
Responsibilities
- Manage requirements lifecycle, analysis, and allocations using DOORS.
- Conceptualize, analyze, design, and oversee complex systems level architecture.
- Perform system-level modeling and simulation.
- Recommend tools and processes to improve systems engineering design and procedures.
- Develop system specifications, master test plans, and other essential artifacts.
- Contribute to integrated master schedules and monitor program progress.
- Generate systems engineering artifacts in support of each program.
- Lead cost estimation activities to support engineering efforts.
- Assist in verification and validation responsibilities.
- Ensure understanding of internal SE procedures and mentor entry level engineers.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Specific Degree Field Required: Aeronautical, Computer Science, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Software or Systems Engineering.
- Master’s degree plus 7 years’ experience OR Bachelor’s degree plus 9 years’ experience.
- ESD
- Safety Training, as dictated by Safety Department
- Advanced DOORS requirements management training
- Systems Engineering Simulation and Modeling concepts
- Systems Engineering methods and procedures
- DOORS requirements management tool suite
- Microsoft Office including Excel and other desktop tools
- Microsoft Projects
- Systems level analysis tools such as Mathlab or equivalent
- Systems level block diagram capture tools such as Visio
- Other related systems engineering tools
