Boeing Commercial Airplanes seeks an experienced or senior Propulsion Structural Repair (Nacelle) Service and Design Engineer to develop repair concepts for metallic and composite nacelle structures and to support urgent and long-term customer repair projects within SSE/Cust. The role is based onsite in Seal Beach, CA.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, lead, and review repair concepts for metal and composite nacelle damage, including drafting 8100-9 forms for AMOCs and major repairs.
- Handle assignments from urgent repair requests spanning hours to days to longer-term projects extending weeks to months.
- Address a range of repair complexities from simple allowable deviations and minor fixes to highly complex major repair plans.
- Cover propulsion structures such as the inlet, fan cowl, thrust reverser, core cowl, and exhaust.
- Formulate inventive design concepts, fleet solutions, and improvements to Structural Repair Manuals and support documentation to aid customers and advance Boeing nacelle repair methodologies.
- Participate in current and future design and development efforts to advocate for customer needs and improve supportability, maintainability, and repairability of nacelle structures.
- Identify and support enhancements to repair team workflow, work distribution, repair methods, and processes.
- Leverage Boeing’s Customer Support network and broader internal connections to fulfill customer needs.
- Combine independent research with close collaboration across internal groups and external partners or suppliers.
- Maintain flexibility to support a fleet operating 24/7/365, with occasional off-shift work to address emergent issues and participate in airline meetings outside regular business hours.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or an equivalent non-U.S. qualification directly related to the work.
- Minimum of five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Willingness to occasionally work outside the standard 1st shift to support 24/7 operations; weekend work may be required.

- Summary Pay Range Experienced (Level 3): $119,850 - $162,150
- Summary Pay Range Senior (Level 4): $146,200 - $197,800
