Job Description

The Process Engineer (Mandarin and English) role at Hounen Solar America Inc. focuses on designing, optimizing, and continuously improving solar manufacturing processes. The position drives cost reduction, quality, safety, and process enhancement through data‑driven analysis and close collaboration with cross‑functional teams. This is an on‑site role based in Orangeburg, South Carolina.

Compensation

Annual salary range is USD 74,868.53 to 90,164.25.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Design and implement process modifications aimed at lowering costs while improving quality.
  • Analyze production data to identify opportunities for improvement and apply data‑driven solutions.
  • Use statistical methods to monitor and control manufacturing processes.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to raise overall process performance.
  • Collaborate with production teams to adopt best practices across operations.
  • Work with quality engineers to ensure processes meet or exceed quality standards and address defects.
  • Implement measures to prevent production defects and mitigate issues.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction in production without sacrificing quality.
  • Partner with procurement and suppliers to optimize material costs.
  • Evaluate and recommend new equipment or technologies to enhance manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinate installation and commissioning of new machinery and technologies.
  • Conduct risk assessments on existing and proposed processes to identify potential issues and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Document process designs, modifications, and improvements; ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provide training to production teams on new processes and modifications, including the development of training materials.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations; implement measures to improve workplace safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering; master’s degree preferred.
  • Extensive engineering experience focused in a specific discipline.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing engineering projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership and mentoring capabilities with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • In‑depth knowledge of relevant engineering software and tools.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
  • Mandarin and English bilingual.
  • Project management skills, including budget and resource management.
