DataAnnotation is hiring a Product Security Engineer - AI Trainer to support the training of AI models focused on cybersecurity. In this remote contract role, you will review AI-generated security material for accuracy, then help craft and solve security-related technical challenges that improve model performance. Work is paid hourly, with flexibility around which projects you take on and when you work.

Role focus

You will evaluate AI-generated cybersecurity content, including threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security techniques, with an emphasis on real-world correctness. You will also design and resolve security-focused technical problems, contributing both practical code and clear explanations that guide the development of next-generation AI security models.

Responsibilities

Review AI-generated cybersecurity content for real-world accuracy and validity, including threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security techniques.
Design and solve security-focused technical problems used to train AI systems.
Write clear technical explanations and security-relevant code.
Provide feedback that directly informs the next generation of AI security models.

Requirements

2+ years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity role, such as penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, detection engineering, DFIR, malware analysis, threat intelligence, or adjacent fields, including government or military cyber operations.
Some coding experience is required, with comfort navigating and patching a codebase.
Fluency in English (native or bilingual level) with strong writing skills.
A bachelor's degree is preferred.
Cybersecurity certifications are a plus, including OSCP, CRTO, GREM, GCFA, CEH, or similar.

Compensation and work model

Remote work from West Virginia (remote).
Contract position.
Paid hourly at $50 to $100 USD per hour.
Paid hourly projects available after passing a short assessment.
Higher bonus rates may be available for certain projects.
