Production Data Engineer

Toyota Financial Services Site Reliability Engineering is hiring a Production Data Engineer to help keep financial software and systems running smoothly. This onsite role in Plano, TX focuses on troubleshooting complex production issues, partnering with product and engineering teams, and working closely with the Major Incident Management team to resolve high-impact environmental problems. What you’ll do

• Serve as the primary point of contact for production support by managing and resolving tickets across multiple business units.
• Triage and prioritize support tickets based on urgency and impact.
• Perform root cause analysis and apply critical thinking to solve complex production problems.
• Analyze trends in support tickets to proactively identify recurring issues and support long-term solutions.
• Document processes, resolutions, and recurring issues to support knowledge management and training.
• Recommend and implement process improvements that reduce ticket volume and increase operational efficiency.
• Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues.
• Collaborate with Major Incident Management to address and resolve critical production environment issues.

What you’ll need

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience designing and implementing data pipelines across multiple systems and platforms.
• 5+ years of experience applying data and systems engineering principles across the data lifecycle.
• 4+ years of experience working with operational and analytical workloads.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience building and supporting full-stack data engineering solutions.
• Experience developing reusable and scalable data frameworks.
• Experience understanding functional and non-functional requirements gathering.
• Familiarity with Enterprise Data Warehouse, ETL, and Data Management concepts and processes.
• Experience working with cloud-based, analytical, distributed, and open-source technologies.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Snowflake, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with optimizing cloud resource usage and cost through rightsizing and autoscaling configurations.
• 4+ years automating operational tasks and incident response using scripting and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
