The Waldinger Corporation has an opportunity for a qualified Project Engineer in our North Platte Office. This onsite role supports the planning, coordination, and execution of projects, collaborating with managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and safety standards. The position may involve exposure to various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, storms, and other environmental factors.

Role overview

The Project Engineer plays a pivotal role in supporting project planning and coordination to ensure timely delivery, budget adherence, and compliance with quality and safety standards. This position collaborates with project managers, design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to meet project objectives and deliver successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Coordination: Assist in shaping project plans and schedules, submit RFIs and manage documentation as needed, coordinate activities and resources to meet deliverables, and collaborate with design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to align with project objectives.
  • Engineering Support: Conduct technical calculations, analyses, and evaluations related to construction materials, methods, and specifications; review drawings and specifications for accuracy and compliance; provide technical guidance to field personnel on construction methods and procedures.
  • Quality Assurance and Control: Monitor workmanship and material quality against project specifications, perform inspections and quality audits, document issues, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Cost Control and Budget: Monitor project costs against approved budgets, track expenditures including labor, materials, and equipment, and identify cost-saving opportunities while supporting cost-control measures.
  • Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with project team members, subcontractors, clients, and other stakeholders; resolve project-related issues and conflicts through negotiation and problem-solving.
  • Client Network: Build and maintain client relationships by engaging in client events, industry conferences, local associations, and Project Manager mentorship.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of construction, engineering, or related field experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
  • Moderate travel
  • Moderate physical demand
